Analytics: How To Set Up Google Analytics on Muse

A simple step by step guide to setting up Google Analytics on your Muse site.

Step 1: Have a Premium account on Muse.

If you need to get Muse Premium, navigate to your Account Settings — represented by the email on your account (see image)— and then click through to the Settings panel, then go to Step 2.

If you already have Muse Premium, great! Skip to Step 3.

 


Step 2: Set up Muse Premium.

In your Muse account, set up Muse Premium. On the Account Settings page, navigate to Muse Premium and follow the steps to set up your Premium account.

Once you have set up your Premium account, proceed to step 3.

 


Step 3: Navigate to Analytics.

In your Muse account, scroll to Analytics in the Account Settings panel and click "Connect Site."

 


Step 4: Select the Site to Connect

In your Muse account, navigate to the Account Settings page. Click on the 'Select a Site to Connect' pop-up and choose the site you wish to link to your Google Analytics account.

Select the desired site from your list of sites.

 


Step 5: Obtain and Copy Your Google Analytics Measurement ID.

5.1. Open a new tab in your web browser.

5.2. Go to the Google Analytics website and log in to your account.

5.3. In the Google Analytics interface, select the property for which you want the Measurement ID.

5.4. Click on "Admin" at the bottom left corner of the page.

5.5. In the Property Settings area of the left column, click on "Data Streams", which is under the “Data collection and modification” tab.

5.6. Select your web data stream.

5.7. Your Measurement ID, labeled as "Measurement ID," is located at the top of the page.

5.8. Click "Copy" and go back to your Muse site.

 


Step 6: Enter Your GA ID

Paste your copied GA Measurement ID into the provided space in the pop-up. Then, click "Connect"
